The March Charge 2021

My Story

I am taking part in The March Charge with Cancer Council and telling cancer where to go! Sadly cancer still takes too many of us. 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Research sees more people than ever survive but we’ve still got a way to go. And we need your help to end cancer. It’s going to be a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to those who experience cancer. Please sponsor me today to support my challenge and join me in telling cancer where to go! Your donation will help our local Cancer Council support those affected right now and fund world-changing research to help more people survive. Thank you for your support

My Updates

And so it begins

My sister started her chemo on Friday. Brave woman. Sat amongst many brave people who were silent, talkative, pensive or simply just being. As the world outside keeps bustling away they sit and have their treatment and do not complain, do not whinge and reach out to the newbies to explain what happens.
I am in absolute awe of these fellow human beings who all have one thing in common - cancer has paid them a very personal visit and they wish to bid it a very big farewell.
This could be any of us. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been touched by Cancer either themselves or through a friend or a family member. As my sister puts up her best fight against this
unwanted visitor I am trying to be useful. Trying to not say clumsy words that are not helpful, trying not to take over and make any of her decisions for her and trying to be her support person the best way I know how....so I am walking to raise money so we can beat this insidious disease for ever. Raising money for research. It’s the most useful thing we can all do.
