My Story

I am taking part in The March Charge with Cancer Council and telling cancer where to go! Sadly cancer still takes too many of us. 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Research sees more people than ever survive but we’ve still got a way to go. And we need your help to end cancer. It’s going to be a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to those who experience cancer. Please sponsor me today to support my challenge and join me in telling cancer where to go! Fight for Sharon

On the 18/01/2021 my mum underwent a CT scan after having difficulty with her speech, headaches and dizziness.

The CT scan showed a large tumour on the left side of her brain.

On the 19/01/2021 mum was admitted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital where she under went further testing. The doctors decided to remove the tumour with surgery.

On the 25/01/2021 mum underwent major brain surgery and the surgeons were quite confident they had got it all.

On the 01/02/2021 we got the biopsy results back of the tumour. It wasn't the news we were all hoping for. 

Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer. A very aggressive cancer. She was informed she would have to go through months of radiation and chemotherapy in an attempt to slow the progression. 

My mum is a fighter and if anyone can come through this she can. We never thought cancer would affect our family and it came as a big shock. So many families have someone affected by this.

To raise awareness and vital funds for life saving cancer research I will be participating in the march challenge,where for the month of March  we will run 250km
