For all those we love and have loved before, our team are supporting Cancer Council's The March Charge...
Next month we’ll be covering 100km each as part of The March Charge. We're doing this for those we love and have loved before that are battling and have battled against Cancer. We've far too often seen the depths that a cancer diagnosis can take, and we'll do whatever we can to raise funds for research and to hopefully lessen the number of people in situations like ours.
We decided to take on this challenge for personal reasons. Over the past few months, we’ve both been shocked with the news of people very close to us having been diagnosed with this disease that impacts far too many near and wide.
My step-dad Dave was diagnosed early November 2025. What started as breast cancer, was diagnosed as having spread to his lymph nodes, spine and lungs. His diagnosis was not only a shock, but highly complex. In this short period of time, I've watched some of what Dave has had to endure, and whilst it's so heartbreaking and painful to watch, the strength he has to fight and keep seeing what other treatment options are out there makes this 100km look easy peasy!!
Sadly, Dan also received the news of a diagnosis of someone close to his heart, also making this challenge all the more significant.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of The March Charge, a movement that has inspired tens of thousands of Aussies to get active and raise millions for cancer research. We’re proud to be part of this legacy and Charge for Change.
Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. We’re doing our part to change this by getting active, setting our goals, and fundraising to help end cancer.
