Day 18: 100 km goal reached
When I set out to do this March charge challenge for Cancer research. I had no idea what I was capable of achieving and so proud that I hit my goal today. I have just passed the 100km mark and just wanted to share my joy with you.
But especially say a big, big thank you to all of you who have given me words of encouragement and inspiration, and especially to those who have been able to spare a few dollars to donate towards Cancer research and Cancer services. As many may know this has been has been a really tough 2 years. Giving back is important to me to prevent others from going through the hell we have.
DAY 12: 71KM TO DATE… 29KM TO GO
Wow, 71km in 12 days. I’ve managed to keep walking despite the very hot days. I’ve explored different routes such as the beach, new parks and my usual go-to trails at Edwardes lake & the wetland creeks. My March Charge campaign is now less than 30km from my goal. As always I’m filled with gratitude towards each of my sponsors for their inspiration!
Day 8: 52km to date… 48km to go
A personal best of 10km smashed on Friday 8th March. Beautiful nature walks around the local lake and area, walking around Rod Laver Arena plus lots of dancing at that Jonas Brothers concert.Day 7: 42km done… 58km to go
7 days in. 42km out of 100km walked/jogged. I’m sore and tired but nothing compared to what cancer warriors go through. So far $1002 raised. I’m humbled by the kindness in tough economic times. THIS AMOUNT ALLOWS funds research to develop new drugs to stop the spread of cancer through the body.
DAY 3: 5km TOTAL 18km… 82km TO GO
5km on Day 3, totalling 18km. 82km to go! Reflecting on exactly 41 yrs since Paul lost his dad to stomach cancer, we still need to do more to fight this dreadful disease. It can strike any part of the body at any time. Your generosity inspires me to keep walking despite my tiredness. Thanks for all your kind donations. Let's fund cancer research together, one step at a time. Every little bit counts!
Day 2: 7km. Total 13km… 87km to go
Super Saturday. Day 2: 7km. Total to date is13km…only 87km to go. I did a mini take walk.i walked to the hairdresser. We walked to a cafe. Sam and I walked to her place. P and I walked home. We did a bin walk! Lovely day to walk. I’m blown away by all the generosity especially when so many are doing it tough atm.Day 1: 6km done…. 94km to go
Two walks around the creek. A mini lake walk and a sunset bin walk. 5.7 km woohoo! Thank you to all who have donatedI'm taking on Cancer Council's The March Charge...
...a month-long fitness challenge to raise funds for cancer research, prevention programs, & support services.
Before my husband Paul was diagnosed with bladder cancer I had never heard of it. It’s one of the most complex and expensive cancers to treat. Survival rate is at 50%.
Bladder Cancer is an under researched rare cancer (especially for women and fit men under 60) so raising awareness, and campaigning for research is vital.
Please sponsor me today to make every KM count! Every dollar raised will help support Cancer Council’s life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and support services (like their free, confidential Information and Support line 13 11 20).
F u c word.
So far this year I’ve helped provide:
844 kids with a SunSmart education
38 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20
11 days of a PHD student’s world-class research

Well done Evvie, wish it could be more... Bladder cancer needs this support and exposure.
Well done Evvie !! You are such an incredible person. Your love, devotion and support to Paul throughout his Bladder Cancer experiences has been incredible. However as always you are turning such a deeply personal and traumatic experience into an opportunity to educate everyone about the disease. As knowledge about common symptoms is vital in early diagnosis of Bladder Cancer and is so often missed. Good luck with completing your Kms.
