A big night at my sons wedding, Saturday 20th March , Lots dancing most of the night, it's finally time to start walking again,( after a few days rest of course)

The Wedding

No walking for me today as it was my sons wedding day but there was lots of dancing ? hope that counts

Great company

Walking with a friend makes the time and distance walked seem like nothing. Lots of chatting and laughter, sooo good for the heart

Count down

Two days to go! Yay , looking forward to starting the challenge,  nothings going to stop me . Everyday is a new beginning with a new outlook and mine is a positive one. We all face challenges in life, some small , some big, l try not to focus too much on what that challenge  is but on how l can work around it. 

Hurdles in life

Life is not predictable as we all know.

Building up my short walks a little further each day as I become stronger and feeling good........... 
My Hurdle........ 
I’m  starting radiation therapy next week, every day Monday to Friday for 5 days. 
I don’t know how I’ll feel physically , whether I’ll be too fatigued to meet my fitness goal but I’ll be giving it my best shot. Hurdles are made for jumping over. Wish me luck ? 

Small steps still lead me to my destination

I’m taking short walks almost every day  and feeling stronger each time .   I’m confident I will reach my 70 km goal in March.  Last year my gorgeous cousin  Sandra organised a 80’s dress up  fundraising gathering in my honour  to help support me in my walk , we walked around Listerfield.Lake  it was  so much fun .  Wanted to do the same  sort of thing this year but don’t know if Covid restrictions will permit it, I’ll have to wait and see. 

Treatment Day

Third cycle of trial treatment today, I’ll be out of action for a few days . So grateful for the wonderful Staff at Peter Mac what an amazing job they do, so compassionate and genuinely there to help you . Great job guys , My Hero’s  x

Rehab

Building up my strength with stretches  and  light resistance training , so I can  begin walking long distances again after months  of being unable to do anything  because of my pain.  Thanks to the Cancer research team my new trials treatment has reduced my need  for pain relief  , so I can be more mobile. 

My Story

I am taking part in The March Charge with Cancer Council and telling cancer where to go! Sadly cancer still takes too many of us. 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Research sees more people than ever survive but we’ve still got a way to go. And we need your help to end cancer.
