I'm Charging for my Mum, Juliane Samara
Why am I undertaking this challenge?
I have lost very dear relatives and friends to cancer, and I know plenty more who have been diagnosed with cancer and valiantly fought against it.
My incredible mother is a senior nurse who has dedicated so much of her time, effort, and care into oncology and palliative care. She has helped and healed so many and comforted so many passing souls.
There are also some 169,000 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. I or you or anyone else I love deeply could be one of those 169,000.
For those who have died, for those who have fought it, and for those who will be diagnosed or affected by it in the future, I am taking up the 2026 March Charge challenge.
I will be walking and/or hiking at least 120 kilometres next month to raise awareness and funds for critical cancer research and treatment. I feel pretty lucky that I can incorporate such an important fundraising venture into my fitness plan and routines, and I hope that you will consider sponsoring me as I plod, saunter, and stride towards my goal.
Please sponsor me today and make every kilometre count! Every dollar that you donate will help fund Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention programs, and support services.
And if you donate, I will make sure to put in a good word for you with the magpies, and tell the spirits of trees and mountains and Mother Creator Earth herself of your offering!
Together, we can tell cancer to fuck right off and make a real difference!
