I'm Charging for my Myself
Running Towards A Cancer Free Future
What did Stage 3C breast cancer mean for me?
Surgeries. Bye bye boobie. Then more surgeries. With more still to come.
Chemo - losing every stand of hair from my body and vomiting out of a moving car - that I was driving. Spectacular.
Radiation - that left me looking like a plucked chicken.
Medically induced menopause at 41.
And enough specialist appointments to earn myself at least a supporting role on Grey’s.
Self advocacy. Tears. Fear. Dark, dark humour. Family. Friendship. And coming back stronger.
Zero Stars. Would not subscribe.
But we don't get to choose.
This March, I’m running 85km — to prove to my post-cancer self that I still can, and for the millions who don’t get a choice but to be “strong.”
Research matters.
New treatments matter.
And unfortunately… so does money.
If you can donate, thank you. You’re helping future patients hear the words that still get me through: “We have options.”
