The March Charge 2026

I'm Charging for my Husband, Matthew

Day 31

Day 31 is here and I am so proud of what I was able to achieve this month. It wasn't the biggest target out there but for my first attempt, it isn't too bad. I purposefully charged 65km, with the finam 5km together with both kids at a local Parkrun (see here for super proud mum moment - https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18AYtK4MBj/ 🥰). Running was something I never imagined doing but have found a love for and look forward to challenging and pushing myself each week to do.
Side note: if I were to count my total distance covered for the month it would 209.5km!!
My biggest thanks is to those who donated to my cause be it in support of our family, or because they have also experienced in someway the insipid disease that is cancer.

1st March Entry - My Reason...

It is ironic that this time last year, I was sitting and waiting in a hospital cafeteria I feel like maybe 6 or so hours, waiting for a call to say the fight for our family and future had really begun. This is my reason for @themarchcharge and we are so lucky to have a positive future in our sights.
I am so thankful to all the amazing donations I've received so far. The difference not only those contributions will make to research but seeing everyone taking the cause on this month. LFG!!!

I'm taking on The March Charge...

...a month-long fitness challenge to raise funds for world-class cancer research, walking 60km (or more) over March.

Last year, while expecting our second child, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. The months that followed while navigating the last trimesters, post-partum and his chemotherapy just had us in non-stop survival mode. I am proud of how we all dealt with it and so grateful for the support of so many people during that time. I want to give back and fight for the future and that no one has to experience this be it the patient or their family.

Sadly, an estimated 169,000 Australians will hear the the words “you have cancer” just this year.

Please sponsor me today and make every kilometre count! Every dollar raised will help fund Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention programs, and support services.

Together, we can tell cancer where to go. Feel the Charge and join me in making a difference!
