I'm taking on The March Charge for Cancer.

In November 2022 I was told by the Doctor your tests, scans and biopsy have come back and I’m so sorry to tell you but you’ve got lung Cancer’.

Never something anyone wants to hear or thought they’d ever hear a doctor say it to them. I was speechless for the first time, I went numb, I thought how can this be, i’m young, I’m fit and have don’t even smoke.

I under went surgery straight away to have a lobectomy which is removing an entire lobe of your lung, I lost 40% of my right lung and lymph nodes. I was in hospital for 9 terrible days, I cried everyday, I felt scared of what was next, scared for my kids, hubby & family.

When I came home the doctors told me the best way to recover is to walk, I couldn’t even walk to the end of my street in the first few weeks but I was determined to build up what was left of my lungs and get fitter than I was before.

I did just that, I quit the gym and started walking and longer and longer each time, now I still walk almost every morning. It's amazing what your body can do and how it heals.

I want to take on the March charge to raise funds for Cancer, a cause close to my Heart, Cancer affected me, my family and it affects so many others and their lives daily. No one should ever have to hear you have Cancer so I would love for you to sponsor me and I promise to do loads of KM’s in March.
