I'm Charging for my Mum, Barbara
The March Charge for Mum

Over this past Christmas break, my mum was in and out of hospital with back pain, balance issues and (misdiagnosed) Bell’s palsy. On 16 January 2026, we received the news- she had metastatic primary lung adenocarcinoma which had spread to her liver, spine, and brain. She never smoked, never drank, and was overall quite a healthy person. Whilst this was awful news, we still held out hope that there may be some treatment available. The next day, 17 January 2026, we were told that mum only had days left to live.
Mum took her last breath Wednesday, 21 January 2026 at 9:01am, surrounded by loved ones.
Whilst this won’t bring her back, I would like to raise awareness and I hope to raise enough money to make a difference in someone else’s life and outcome.
This one is for you, Mum. Thank you for everything.
