I'm Charging for my Grandfather, Anthony Copley Miller
I'm taking on The March Charge...
Cancer doesn’t just take someone once.
It takes them in every milestone they miss. Every birthday. Every quiet moment you wish they were still here.
Almost sixteen years ago, it took my grandpa — the first man I ever loved. The man who showed me strength without ever needing to say the word. He fought with unwavering bravery until his very last breath, and I still carry that image of courage with me every day.
This March, for the second year in a row, I’m walking 200 kilometres as part of the March Charge.
Two hundred kilometres for the love that never faded.
For a grandfather who should still be here.
For the families walking hospital corridors right now, carrying fear heavier than any distance.
I walk because cancer doesn’t discriminate — and neither should hope.
Two hundred kilometres is nothing compared to the strength my incredible Grandpa showed. Nothing compared to the fight so many families are still facing.
He is painfully missed every single day. But if I can turn even a fraction of that grief into purpose, then every step I take is the least I can do — and somehow, it becomes so much more.
I can’t rewrite our ending. But I can choose what his legacy stands for.
If you donate, you’re helping turn his bravery into action — funding research, supporting families, and fighting for moments that cancer tries to steal.
