I'm Charging for my Dad, Alvaro
I'm taking on The March Charge...
Many of you would know that less than a year ago, I lost the most important person in my life — my dad — to cancer. His diagnosis came as a complete shock, and the disease was aggressive and merciless. By the time he was diagnosed in late November, the cancer had spread extensively, with more than 200 tumours in his brain, both lungs riddled with cancer, and more fund all over his bowels, back, spine, and throat. He never stood a chance.
But that doesn’t mean research isn’t working, and it certainly doesn’t mean it should stop. Cancer is relentless, and far too many families lose someone they love each year. Every dollar raised goes towards vital research, prevention programs, and support services — and every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.
This year I’m taking part in The March Charge, a month-long fitness challenge raising funds for world-class cancer research. With around 169,000 Australians expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year, I’m getting active to help make a difference. Please consider sponsoring me — every dollar raised supports Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention programs, and support services. Together, we can help change lives.
If you’re able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t, please consider joining the challenge and getting involved. Together, we can help change the future and work towards eliminating this devastating disease.
