The March Charge 2026

I'm Charging for my the memory of my cousin, Rob Bettess

In memory of Rob Bettess

For the remainder of March I will be walking in memory of my cousin Rob Bettess, a spirited young man cut short in the prime of his life, a mechanic, a musician, a father, a friend to many. Losing Rob was devastating for his family and friends, almost unbelievable that someone so full of life could be taken away by this horrible disease. Tell Cancer where to go!  Go for a walk to remember Rob, let the wind and the fresh air give you time to think. To Rob!

Melbourne Walk

Just a little walk today but what a view, Melbourne riverside when the sun is out is amazing. The city was so full of life today, given more time we could have walked a stack.

Today for Old Mate

There’s a special purpose for today’s walk, I had old mate reach out to say he’s proud of my effort taking on the challenge to raise funds for the Cancer Council. He is going through a similar scenario to mine from 10 years ago so we messaged and are going to catch up to share information.
Be kind to yourself pal, keep fighting. You know who you are.

Sunshine, wind and fresh air

I have been spoilt by the weather for the start of my March charge so I am making the most of it. With nearly 30 klms completed planning is done for how to fit the walking in to my work schedule, morning and evening walks breaking it up. I have had a lot of time to reflect on friends and family affected by cancer over the years and I especially reflect on  those who looked after me when in need. I am doing this solo but normally I would say build a team to get you  through tough times. Kind regards, Stuart Wyatt.

Aiming at a Diamond effort!

It has been 10 years for me since the biggest battle of my life. With cancer you put your existence in the hands of your medical team and do everything asked of you. This walking challenge is a shout out to the Cancer Council, raising money so you can make a difference for others lives who are going through the fight. Fitness is an important part of my life, getting out in the fresh air. The March Charge is a month-long fitness challenge to raise funds for world-class cancer research.

This year marks 10 years of The March Charge, a decade of Aussies getting active and raising millions to support people impacted by cancer. I’m proud to be part of this movement and Charge for Change.

Sadly, an estimated 169,000 Australians will hear the the words “you have cancer” this year. I’m doing my part to change this by getting active and fundraising for those affected.

Please sponsor me today and make every kilometre count! Every dollar raised will help fund Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention programs, and support services.

Together, we can tell cancer where to go. Feel the Charge and join me in making a difference!
