Medals, pyjamas, a cardigan, and countless cherished memories, alongside my mother’s courageous battle at the age of eighteen have inspired me to raise awareness and funds for cancer. My connection to my grandfather exists only through the pages of our family history book. I can hold his medals in my hands, but never his hand, as he lost his life to brain cancer. I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable bravery and determination of my aunt Daniela and my friend Sylvie as they fought pancreatic cancer. Kiril’s radiant smile was taken from us far too soon by brain cancer. He had only thirteen years with us, and we were not even granted the chance to say goodbye.
To miss someone forever is to keep a part of them alive within us, to hold onto who they were and what they meant to us. With all my love, I will treasure these memories in the most special part of my heart, where they will never fade or be forgotten.
