I am Charging for my Other, Steven
We are taking on The March Charge...
The March Charge is a close to home month-long fitness challenge to raise funds for world-class cancer research.
This year marks 10 years of The March Charge, a decade of Aussies getting active and raising millions to support people impacted by cancer. I’m proud to be part of this movement and Charge for Change.
Sadly, an estimated 169,000 Australians will hear the the words “you have cancer” this year. I’m doing my part to change this by getting active and fundraising for those affected.
This isn’t about kilometres or targets for me, it’s about movement with meaning.
I’m doing the March Charge as part of a team with Louisa, Liv, Estelle and Savanna, not just to raise funds, but to honour something much deeper: showing up when it’s hard.
This challenge has come at a time where life stripped me back to basics. I was welcomed into a home where I wasn’t judged or questioned just accepted. During that time, I learned about the loss of Steve, a father and husband whose absence is still deeply felt.
Running and walking this March is my way of standing beside this family not to fix anything, but to walk forward together. Every kilometre is about gratitude, remembrance, and choosing life.
This story will grow as March approaches but its heart is already set.
